Read to Succeed!

At Nansloe, we love to read!  Our whole school World Book Day celebrations are well known throughout the local community and our award winning Story Garden means that children can immerse themselves in the joy of story-telling and imaginative play, whatever their age. We are lucky enough to have two well stocked libraries and our membership of the Education Library Service means that we can regularly change our stock in order to access the latest fiction titles and a wide variety of high quality information texts.

Class Libraries

During our new COVID friendly adaptations, our individual class libraries have been given a new lease of life and the children are loving it! They have full ownership of what their class library should contain and each week the class votes on which titles they would like to change and which they wish to retain, enabling their current interests and reading levels to be reflected. By talking about the books in detail, recommending favourites to their friends and making requests to the school librarian, the children are continuously engaged in the process and highly motivated to read for enjoyment.
